… well almost. I’m flying over to Belfast tomorrow morning to take part in the Belfast Marathon which is on 6th May. This will be my 3rd time running, the first back in 2011 being my first ever marathon.
That particular day I remember two main things. Firstly at the mile 22 marker not only hitting the wall, by pretty much laying down beside it and weeping like a school-girl. Thankfully the big boys at the pub I was passing gave me the encouragement that was needed (go on fat boy …. you can do it !!). The second thing I remember was at the finish. Not so much the finish itself, but after. I was rubbing my head and remember lots of salt falling of my head … I was tempted to sprinkle a little on my chips later 🙂
Last year my running Buddy took part and we used it as another training run – the weather was pretty awful. A video of the event can be found here.
Another training run for me this year in preparation for the Wall Run .. always great to head back home and see the parents as well.
I’ll update after the event …..
